Nichols College has recognized 460 students who achieved Dean's List for their academic work during the spring 2016 semester.

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that more than 4,986 undergraduates have qualified for the Spring 2016 Dean's List.

Springfield College Recognizes 2016 Graduates

This honor society promotes and recognizes the significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of the Alpha Eta in March 1975.

Husson University is pleased to announce the Spring 2016 President's List. Students who earn President's List honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours during the semester and earn a grade point average of between 3.80 to 4.0 during the period.

The following students have been inducted into Omicron Delta Epsilon, the Economic Department's honorary society at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.

The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire during the Commencement Ceremony held Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Durham, N.H. Students who received the honor of Summa Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of Magna Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differs from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

The following local residents were among the 595 students who received degrees during Commencement exercises at Grove City College on May 14, 2016. Delivering this year's Commencement address was Dr. Ben Carson, renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and former 2016 Republican presidential candidate. The Class of 2016 was the second largest class in Grove City College history, coming in just shy of the 596-member Class of 2010. In recent years, the Grove City College's four-year graduation rate has climbed to 78 percent, while its six-year graduation rate has reached 85 percent. The average graduation rate in the U.S. is 59 percent.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that 640 students made the President's honor list for high academic achievement for the 2016 Spring Semester.

On Saturday, May 7, Colby-Sawyer College celebrated its 178th Commencement, recognizing students and other individuals for academic excellence, outstanding contributions to society, and service to the college and community.

693 students received a degree, including 463 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 187 graduate studies degrees and certificates; and 43 Continuing and Career, during Assumption College's 99th Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 7. Carolyn Woo, Ph.D., CEO of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), delivered the commencement address. Honorary degrees were conferred upon Dr. Woo; Dr. James O'Connell, president of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program; and Assumption alumni Dr. Fred Bayon '65, Board Chair Emeritus, and Michael Tsotsis '71, Trustee Emeritus. Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D., president of Assumption College, congratulated the graduates and reminded them that the values they have had instilled in them over the last four years are ones that will continue to shape their lives and guide them as they serve their purpose in the world.

Approximately 600 candidates for graduation were eligible to walk in Coastal Carolina University's fall 2015 commencement ceremonies. South Carolina state superintendent of education Molly M. Spearman advised the Class of 2015 not to forget their roots as they go forward in their lives and careers.

Colby-Sawyer's Fine and Performing Arts Department presents the fall dance ensemble "Reflections" on Friday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Sawyer Center Theater.

Colby-Sawyer's Women's Volleyball team won their fifth consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship after defeating Maine Maritime 3-0 on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Led by Head Coach Brett Sayer and Assistant Coaches Michelle Doody, Callie Dolan, Scott Fitzgerald and Sarah Hannon, the team is comprised of 12 student-athletes.

Alpha Chi is a national honor society that promotes academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students. Its name derives from the initials of the Greek words ALETHEIA (truth) and CAPAKTHP (character).

Twenty Nichols College Students were recognized as Orientation Leaders during the Summer of 2015 for the incoming class of 2019. These students introduced new freshmen students to Nichols College and the community by leading them through team activities and helping them acclimate to the college lifestyle.
